Naturopathic Medicine

Naturopathic medicine is a philosophy. Although there is an increase in research being done by naturopaths and journals that feature articles supportive of naturopaths, the majority of the research is focused on specific treatments. Resources that have compiled this wealth of data include:

Gaby, AR and Wright, JV Nutritional therapy in medical practice: reference manual and study guide, Nutrition Seminars, Carlisle PA, 2003

Prevention is a fundamental principle of naturopathy. Numerous studies have shown that preventative medicine promotes health and decreases health care costs.  The series of review articles by Kenneth Pelletier MD, PHD evaluate the health benefits and cost effectiveness of prevention programs initiated at work sites.
