After earning a BS and MS in Zoology from the University of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Reuben P. Bell graduated from Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. After an internship and residency in Portland, Maine, he became board certified in Osteopathic Family Practice.
After ten years in general practice in rural Maine he moved to Pennsylvania to attend the seminary, in an effort to better understand the interaction of body, mind, and spirit. While there he was Associate Professor of Biology at the Bryn Athyn College. After earning a Master of Divinity he was ordained by the Church of the New Jerusalem (Swedenborgian).
Returning to Maine, he was Associate Professor of Family Medicine and Director of Medical Humanities at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he was also Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies. Still with UNECOM, he then practiced geriatric medicine, with an interest in end-of-life care.
Dr. Bell’s practice at True North is a return to his Traditional Osteopathic roots, where he can integrate a lifetime of learning into the holistic practice of finding health.
